Default Dyno tuned

Went to Performance Dyno in Concord, NH today, and had a reprogrammable Hyperchip put in. Before today, I had pulled a best of 209 HP and 273 torque on the dyno. After installing the new chip, and reprogramming it a few times, we came out with a peak of 214 HP/281 torque. And also gained about 10 HP at 5000 rpm, which is where I usually shift at, so should be a little faster out the top end.
Also, before today's tune, my car ran rich on the top-end. Now it has has a perfect air/fuel ratio all the way across the rpm range.

Gotta tell you guys, if you're modifying your motor, or even if you just want more out of it, you really should be working with a shop that has a dyno. And you better be on good terms with the guy you're working with. For an example, while he was reprogramming, he showed me on the computer that I was using 85% of the injector's capacity, so now I know I have some room for trying to get more air into the motor without worrying about running the motor lean before having to buy bigger injectors. He also showed me where he changed to curve of the spark advance, which helped get more torque in the lower rpms, and more HP up high.

I even got a 4 way switch to which allows me to instantly change to spark advance, so if I want to run at the track with super unleaded gas, I have a setting that allows me the max performance. And if I know I won't be racing for awhile, by clicking to another setting, I can run regular without worrying about pinging.

If you're in the New England area, give these guys a try. Performance Dyno. 226-FAST

those are very good numbers considering all you have is a set of underdrive pulleys.

how much did all that cost you? i'm considering it myself.

That's where I got mine tune as well! Pete is awesome there!
I gained about 10 HP after my tune, but the best part is the A/F mix is good now. (was slightly lean at the top)
Isn't the car so much smoother?
I second your recommendation!

For the chip and 6 runs on the dyno, he charged me $399. While that sounds like a lot for 5 hp, one must remember that now, anytime I modify the motor, I can have the chip reprogrammed to get the most out of the mods. It will be about $75 for 3 runs to tune the mods.

Did it work? I'm happy to say it did. On a warm night at NED tonight, I ran a new best ever 14.428 (old was 14.470 on a cool day). I am now anxiously awaiting the cooler weather of the fall season...
