Ok..... Im about to convert my 88 gt to Mass air witch it needs bad. it was born a auto matic now has a 5 speed tremec, i was reading on some other forums that you have to make sure you have the right computer but have also read that it dosnt matter which computer u use in ther converstion as long as its from a mass air car. in the one post i read from some one asking, sense my car was a orginally a automatic but now it is a 5 speed should i stick to a automatic ECu? or dose it matter if i get a 5 speed computer?? could really use some help here.... any help would be apprecitated. thanks in advance...

an automatic ecu will work with a 5 speed but a 5 speed will not work with an automatic since you have a manual now you should be good with either one

In a foxbody it doesnt matter which ECM you use (manual or auto) the computer doesnt control the transmission.

SN-95's however, are a completely different story.

my car is an auto with a 5speed computer.. runs better than having the auto computer in it.
