Default Should I port the heads in TF kit?

Two cars I'm building. Mine and my girls shes payin for hers I'm paying for mine.

We both are n/a both are stock shortblocks I'm TF kit stage 2 cam every Bolt on

Hers is gt40 headS undecided cam.

Should we drop em both off for porting or not even bother. I have plans for pushing the shortblock to 450hp Wheel.
And I may end up boosting to get there without breaking stock block.

I'm 88 forged block she's 00 explorer hypercruectic block

It defiantly wouldn't hurt to port them both. Especially on the exhaust side where they need the most help.

either way you look at it will be a waste on a stock shortblock

the GT40's could use a port job more than the TF heads. are the Gt40's iron?

if you want to do anything, first of all DONT buy the TFS top end kit, get a stroker bottom end, port the TF heads, run a good intake and custom grind cam and thatll be worth it

as for your old lady, put the ported Gt40's on you bottom end and run a blower at around 10lbs with a better intake.

best way to go about things, if youre not willing to do it now, dont bother with what you are planning on doing, theres absolutely NO reason to spend money twice...

my opinion is this......no matter the head...there is room for porting.

small blocks need exhaust work most of anything. so a port and polish goes a long on exhaust ports. also matching the heads to the intake is big...if you could see the mating surfaces or do a clay imprint...you may see a "brick wall" that needs to be removed

multi angle valve job is ALWAYS a plus...and some smoothing of the bowls can help a big deal too.

intakes ports arent usually an issue, but can sometimes smooth the transitions a bit better.

but like i said.....exhaust exhaust exhaust....get rid of the "bump" if your heads have one (thermactor bump)
