Air conditioner doesn't work

Air conditioner doesn't work
I bought a 92 mustang gt and the air conditioner doesn't work in it. I put a new control panel in it because the one that was put in it didn't show an option for air. But now no matter what setting it is set on it comes out the defrost and floor. What could be causing this? after i figure that part out to get it to switch to vent then defrost and mix. I will continue on to get help on fixing air conditioner.
