boost gauge

Default boost gauge

I hooked up a boost gauge to my car to see how much boost the motor was gettin and it read about 16 to 20 Vac and when I get on it it will drop to zero and I am not reading any boost ... 6 inch bottom pulley and 2.90 top. I have checked the meter out with low pressure air about 7 lbs from my compressor and it shows the same , any ideas would be great , I looked for post on this site but didnt find any ...

^^^kinda obvious OP...

Boost leak test needed....
Ignore the car and the guys doing it but pay attention to what they are doing

Then Obvioulsy also triple check all of your vac lines and the plastic tree on the firewall

check for belt slippage also, when I put mine together, made 2-3 psi max, belt wasn't tight enough

Booost leak! like it been said, but because you have good vacuum should eliminate a lot of suspected areas.

Thanks for the vid.. I have to agree that I have to good of vac to have a vac leak I will check for a boost leak .. wish I could post a pick, I do not have a inter cooler, goes from charger to intake 1 pipe 2 fittings ....

Wow, that's really weird that you have good vacuum and no boost, if you had a leak I'd think it'd be obvious with your set up being so simple like that. I would also check your S/C belt. Sometimes it's the simplest thing!
