My car is a 1993 5.0 LX. Or I assumed it is the original 5.0. While screwing things up I replaced the dist cap (now a Motorcraft) My internet searching says the firing order for the 5.0 L/302 is 1-5-4-3-6-3-7-8. The order on my car is 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8 which is supposed to be for a 5.8 L or something. I put the plug wires on in the 1-5-4 etc position, ran like crap. Not only that the # 3 and #5 wires had to be streched to get them on the cap. What is going on?
