i also recently installed some long tubes and had the same issues as you. i ended up going with a low pro steering shaft from flaming river so i have plenty of clearance now. one of the primaries on the passenger side is still resting on frame so im still trying to figure that one out. My mounts are brand new so i know its not because of old/ worn out mounts.

The offset bushings can move the rack either right or left, and will move the steering shaft as well. It moves the rack on the order of 1/2", but up high on the steering shaft, you are only getting a fraction of that. On the steering column, it's bolted inside the car under the dash with 4 nuts; if you loosen the 4 nuts (actually you also have to remove the hood release first, which is 2 more nuts) then the column will move a little bit from side to side, which will move the steering shaft either away or towards the header tubes. I gained about 1/8" clearance from each of the two methods, or about 1/4" total.
