89 lx motor mounts
#4
Remove the big nut on the stud of both engine mounts that goes through the k-member. disconnect header collectors from h-pipe by removing nuts. remove transmission mount nuts. jack up the engine at the front of the oil pans small sump with a 2x4 block of wood and a bottle jack, scissor jack etc. The front of the oil pan is very strong you wont dent the pan at all. The sway bar is close, so you turn the 2x4 up on its thinner end and jack up slowly. The cars front end will start to raise before the engine does, dont worry this is normal, keep jacking and the engine mounts stud will clear the k-member hole. If only one engine mount stud clears the k-member hole then unbolt that mount first by removing the two bolts at engine block, once the mount is removed you can easily tilt the engine higher on the low side by pushing on the upper intake and wedge a block of wood to keep the engine up and remove the other engine mount, by disconnecting the headers from the h-pipe and removing the trans mount nuts, the engine easily moves from side to side to remove and install new mounts. So put two new engine mounts in not one and put a new trans mount in while you have the chance. Don't use prothane motor mounts they sit the engine too high.

Do you have the new mount? I'm not exactly sure where you buy a single motor mount, but we sell polyurethane engine mounts for only $99/pair.
