Default gt 40p upper/lower intake for 93 mustang

Sorry if this has been asked more than once. Ive looked thru the post and havent seen to much on the subject. I just picked up a upper and lower intake off a 00 mountaineer and was wondering if i could use this on a 93 mustang. I have read somewhere else that the gt 40 intakes are better, but i got these for 70 bucks at the junk yard. If i can use them what do i have to do to make them work? I dont have emissions testing where i live, so the egr isnt that big a deal, but will it effect performance not using it? Should i return the upper intake and look for the gt 40? Ive got 30 days to take the intake back for a refund.

Thank you .

GT-40 intake is a great one. The lower is the same as a 93 Cobra and upper is a little different in design and appearance. Even used, not cheap. I once picked on up for ~$500 but it was a good investment. Opened up potential in combination with other mods (heads/cam/intake/injectors/mass air/throttle body). Not sure how much extra work it is to put an Explorer/Mountaineer intake to good use. Might have some hood-clearance issues as well...if I remember correctly, the Explorer intakes are a little taller? Anyone know for sure?

If you want EGR, you need one from a 96 Explorer/ Moutaineer. The ones that do not have the P heads.

No gains on a stock engine, but will support up to about 300hp when you have heads, cam, etc.

Well I went up today and picked up the p heads to go along with the intake. Everybody always talks about the gt40 uppers, and never the gt40p uppers. When I get the heads rebuilt should I get the heads and lower intake port and polished or would that be a waste of money? Cant afford afrs, would love to tho, just trying to break the 300 HP mark.
