Default what size cam?

Am i going to have to do a bunch of motor work to put aftermarket heads on? I have the performer RPM intake and i was thinking about buying the heads and the cam to match. Would that work?

In short.... Yes. There is NO way to make the performer setup work with an '86 motor without having the pistons fly cut.
