Default torque converter

hello, i have a 94 mustang gt 5speed manual transmission. recently i just replaced the rear transmission seal, and put fluid in the trans. the trans was pretty dry when i replaced the seal. would i need to take tranny out to get fluid into the torque converter? because now when i ease off the clutch (from a stop) in first gear my whole car shakes really bad. its never done this before. and it also does it when i shift into 2nd and sometimes i can feel it alittle in 3rd gear. if you have any info for me please help..

Welcome!

............. um...........

..........you do not have a torque converter......

Torque converters are in automatic transmissions. IF you did have an automatic the fluid would automatically be pumped into the converter...but that is irrelevant since you do not.

How did you go about replacing the seal? How much fluid did you ad?

project, i was just told by a buddy that i had one lol. i am not a mech at all just know a little here and there. but i replaced the seal were the drive shaft and tranny meet. i pulled the drive shaft off and then pried off the old seal, which has that rubber cone looking peice on it. put knew seal back on. then i added 2qts of fluid. which i know i need a little bit more, because i can barely feel the fluid in the tranny as it is. but like i said before it was pretty low when i got to replacing the old seal.

check the transmission fluid using the dipstick, not the "feel". better do it before driving it any more.

interesting, shows how much i know about manual transmission, from what i quickly looked up there should be a plug on the transmission that when opened transmission fluid should come out if over filled. if this is the case then i would open plug, fill tranny till fluid comes out of plug, close plug and call it a day.

Fill it through the plug on the side of the case until the fluid starts coming back out. Let it drain back out a bit until it's a slow drip, put the plug in. You're done.

You'll find it difficult but do as mattdel said, I used a pump and a cut open quart of oil container.

The easiest way would be to remove the shifter and the top plug on the tranny then fill until you get the stated result!

For a quick sec i thought i was drunk reading this thread lol but i read it again just a lack of knowledge! converters and dipsticks on a t-5 app??? well hope thats cleared up now.
