Default 5 spd tranny

Hi there all. Been awhile since I've been on here but alas I know where to come to get my questions answered lol. Anywho, I bought an '87 Gt Convertible 5spd & I'm needing to replace the tranny. My question is what years of mustang tranny are able to work in my car??? I'm not wanting to race or anything so I'm not interested in a beefed up tranny. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks ~Q

'85-'93 will all work

the tag number on the case will have a 1352-XXX number on it. aluminum tag on one of the 4 bolts that holds the tail to the case.

the 3 digit number is what you want, a 115,126,169,199,208 all good trannies. you just wanna make sure you dont buy a NON world class, from a 4 cylinder car

a 94-95 trans will work too, if you know what you are doing.
