Default 5.0 Belt routing

My smog pump on my 90 5.0 has been bypassed... Thats how I bough it. Im not sure if the belt is routed the right way. Everything seems like its in place but the tensioner pushes down on the belt too much and it rubs against another part of the belt.

So can someone please post a correct routing pattern for a 5.0 with the smog pump bypassed.

Thanks

Awesome.. thanks so much..

Is that for use with the stock belt or a shorter bypass belt? Cause I have both and currently the shorter belt is on

Ya, it's wrong, the belt can't magically go up and be on the tensioner. Just do it the way that is shown in the first picture and make sure you get a belt that's tight enough to where you almost can't get it under the tensioner.

On the subject, Is it a bad Idea to bypass the smog pump? Im not using mine and I feel its just wasting space and HP's. Also what size belt do I need for the Smog pump bypass?

It's not a bad idea at all, you can free up some ponies. I think right now I'm running an 84.5" belt (I don't have underdrives), but one thing to make sure to do is to plug up the hole on your h (or x) pipe so no exhaust can get into the passages in your engine. For now it's okay to run without a belt, but in the long run it's going to hurt you unless you get that line plugged.

Does anyone know the correct brand and part number for the belt I need? I went today and bought a Duralast belt at autozone and it seems just an inch too short to fit over the alternator... We had 2 people pushing on the tensioner and still couldnt get it
