1983 GT or GLX?
i already posted this, but i think it was the wrong section. i hope this one is the right one. I recently bought my first stang. 1983 5.0 liter 4 barrel carb, Convertible. i ran the VIN and it came back as a GLX 5.0 Vert with a 4 barrel. I read somewhere that the VIN on these will not distinguish between a GT and a GLX is this true? i also heard that the only way to distinguish the two is to look at a sticker, ar a plate attached to the radiator support, if that plate or sticker is not there, is there any way else i can tell? it has power locks, but manual windows, front and back, the top is manual, the hood has a non functioning cowl, (not sure if the hood is original) but i belive these came on the GT'S? any info would be helpful! I also thought that the 5.0 cars were 5 lug and the 4 cylinder mustangs were 4 lug, mine is a 4 lug which is also confusing me.
