Default AOD to T5

Hey, if you saw my last post you'd know i'm looking to do a motor swap into a car and i was supposed to pick up a Marquis a few days ago, i've been sick and haven't got it picked up yet.

Anyway, i want to convert it to a T5 transmission and as most of you know, those never come with the bellhousing. Can i swap the AOD bellhousing onto the T5? If so, does this change the overall distance between the transmission and differential? I'm buying a kit to swap this into an '85 Mazda Rx-7 and don't want to run into a snag such as the driveshaft not working properly because of a hack job with the transmission.

Thanks for your time.

I was just asking if the AOD bellhousing fit the T5 transmission...

I talked with the guy at "Granny's Speed Shop" though, he's been helpful to me so i'm going to buy from him. It's a crossmember and driveshaft kit for $375.

I'll check out that link you posted after i submit this post.

I have just pulled my aod out of my car and was looking at it the other day. I'm at school and haven't seen it for a few weeks....i wasn't sure if the bell housing even came off my aod. may want to check that.

<IMG src=smileys/smiley5.gif border="0">NO WAY,</P>

The AOD is a fully cast case like a C6. You need a T5 bellhousing or buy a safety bellhousing (lakewood)for the T5.</P>

I was afraid of that.

I've never seen either transmission, so i didn't know the AOD was actually a full case, Automatics generally are though.

Just gathering information, if the bellhousings were swapable i would've gotten a transmission from eBay insted of spending weeks scavenging the junkyards.<edited><editID>O 16581 72452 5</editID><editDate>37967.7254398148</editDate></edited>
