Welcome to MF! ....1988 was the last year of Speed Density (except CA 5.0's) ... The MAF will correct the problem!!

You will need a MAF kit from a 5.0 set-up....They also sell these conversion kits with include the MAF, Wire harness & computer (A9L for a 5 speed)

Welcome, yes a MAF Sensor should fix your issues, also if the car has an aftermarker cam expect it to have issues at idle unless you get the car tuned then you should be good to go!

Default still not running

I recently put in a bbk maf delete. Essentially removes the maf sensor out of the intake. (As seen in my album). I replaced all the spark plugs.(warn out and loose) to try and fix back firing issue. The car starts fine but the after turning over dies. Sounds likes its gasping for air. I tap the peddle to keep it from stalling. Yet for some reason have no control over the throttle it will shoot up to 3000rpm even with the smallest touch of the peddle.. With my cold air, aluminium racing headers and 303 cam i should be flying down the streets .. yet its stuck outside. i will take any suggestions into consideration so i can put my baby back on the road
thx.

you need t install a full maf CONVERSION... your car isnt going to run right without it.

You also probably have a large vac leak, and your timing is likely to be completely incorrect.

Welcome to MF! You will find that most of the members here are very knowledgeable, and helpful. Add a pic of your '88 Stang to your "garage", so we can check her out!
