Default Trying to put heat back in the fox....

Hey guys I got my 87 vert without heat...the previous owner butched all the heat out for what reason idk but now in tryin to get some comfort back and wanting to put heat back in...the climate control stuff all work just no hot air and under the hoood it looks like they took everything out...there's just two id say nipples or conections under the hood that go thru the firewall...how hard will it be to reinstall what someone butched out?? Thanks for the help

I can post a pic later when I get home

Not too hard, the right way would be buying new coolant hoses and the metal coolant tube that bolts to the lower intake manifold.

I'd say as long as you get coolant properly flowing into the heater core again you will have heat back. I'm not using the metal coolant tube anymore, just long hose, because I took my stuff out and then my ex wanted heat during a 3000 mile trip to Daytona in March, IDK why... use a blanket bitch.

Actually going out and lookin under the hood again I found that the two hoses (inlet, return) looks as if they were joined together to bypass the heater core...I wonder why they did this? I'm thinkin maybe bc the heater core was leakin or somthing...idk...the two nipples are the heater hose connections right? An the other two which are disconnected also and have actual screw type fittings are for the ac??
Another thing the nipples look to have surface rust on the inside of what I can see, if I hook the hoses up will the rust do damage?

I'd place a pretty safe bet on the system was bypassed to avoid the big huge job of changing a Mustang heater core.

The coolant hoses should be clamped onto the heater core with a hose clamp. The heater core is not iron/steel, it shouldn't be rusting. The corrosion should appear greenish/blue because it is copper.

Last time I replaced my heater core it took me about 5 hrs.

For set by step try any one of these .
