Default T5 replacement

Ok my fellow Mustangers. I am about to attempt my first T5 replacement in my 93 LX. Ive been told that it is fairly simple. Is it that hard to do? Any help or advice or tricks that anyone has figured out along the way would be MUCH appreciated!

Not my favorite thing to do but, as long as it doesn't hit you in the face or you don't put the clutch in backwards, you should be good. If you are just replacing the trans, just be sure to get the shaft lubed with anti-seize where throw-out bearing rides.

a 12 point 12mm wrench or socket is a must, or you wont even get the DS out

juice up all the exhaust bolts for a couple days before with pb blaster for exhaust removal ease

remove the trans from the bell housing , then the bell housing from the motor if your doing the clutch too.

now is a good time to replace the rear main seal, even if its not leaking

when you put it all back in, fill the trans from the drivers seat b4 you put the shifter back in. 2 3/4 qts but go kinda slow, cuz the holes are small

you can use a skateboard to roll it around out from under the car and back under again...makes it a lil easier

thats about it really.

very easy and str8 forward, once you get it down...you can do a clutch job in under 2 hours flat

It's very very easy, especially if you have a lift.. Takes about an hour out and in..
