Default dip stick broke off. consequences?

a couple years back i was about to return my 95gt to stock, but didnt get to it.
im hoping to try again soon.

anyway, part of the reason i wanted to do the restore was because of various issues with the way the car ran. one issue was a severe loping idle and eventual stall. so, the dip stick is no longer attached to the oil pan (or wherever it is it actually is supposed to connect). i can take it right out of the engine bay (its not attached to the top bracket any longer as well). and i can also put it back in the hole. im not a mechanic, so i never thought about what problems might be created by this situation, other than maybe some oil splashing out possibly, but when i drove the car, the stick is in the hole, so how much oil could splash out actually.not much i suppose.
but it just struck me that maybe there is suppose to be vacuum in that area. i mean, it is open to the crankcase, correct? so im wondering if thats the case, how much trouble is this leak causing?

next step is how do i repair this? jb weld or similar should be fine, right?

thanks in advance for any help

I'd go ahead and just replace the dipstick and tube. Oil level is an important thing to be accurate about.

If the stick is not in the tube anymore... yeah unmetered air is getting in. If the stick is in the tube and the tube is in the oil pan I don't think it would let in enough air to cause problems. But I may be wrong.

Why not just fix what is causing driveability issues instead of returning it to stock?

well, heres the thing, the car has been modified. i dont want to say heavily modified because i dont have anything to compare to, but lots of stuff have been changed and they were changed to work with the now gone supercharger. im not a mechanic, but im guessing most of these parts are not helping the driveability issues. another thing is that i would like to take it all apart and put it back together just to do it. (something i have always wanted to learn/do)
so, i plan to take it apart down to the block, and put it back together. while im doing that i hope you guys here will be able to help/guide me along, and tell me which parts make sense to keep, and which make more sense to return to stock. for example, i think i have 42# injectors in there now. no need for them as far as i can tell. theres an off road x-pipe on there, that can go as well. theres an xcam i believe, i might try to tackle that as well.
65mm throttle body? not sure if thats helping or hurting.

I agree with Tony on the dipstick.
You are correct, you don't even want 42# injectors anymore...........

I ususally put black silicone around my tube and drop it in. Then bolt it down under a header bolt.

My buddy has a 5.0 motor with the dipstick hole blocked off completly. It has a piece of metal in it. I assume he was going to the old type timing cover and never did.
