Nope, I didn't point it out to them. Long story short, I went for an emissions inspection late last year when I didn't need one and the inspector said that it wasn't due yet and even if it was, it wouldn't pass b/c the EGR had been removed.

I thought about that, but I wasn't sure if they hooked anything up to it to see if it is functioning correctly.

well, since I dont know what state you live in, its all just speculatiomn (pro-tip: fill out your user details) But they should just to a visual check, then see if your CEL works, then run it on the rollers

Just in case anyone was following this, I successfully re-installed my EGR today. All I needed was the ERG tube (which I found on ebay) and then connected the vacuum lines and electrical connector to the pressure feedback sensor. The following thread helped a lot:
