347 head question new vs porting?
I currently have a 347 thats been built and tuned. It made 350hp/360ft lbs of torque. I'm looking to move that power up naturally aspirated. I currently have trick flow street heads and a TFS stage 3 cam. Would my money be better spent replacing the heads with an afr setup, if so which ones? Or would I be better off pulling my trick flows and having them ported? My current quote on porting is $1200.00 and they estimate my power to be over 400hp at the wheels. So Im wondering with that type of port work if reliablity and streetabilty become an issue? Thanks fellas

I'd be suprised if you picked up 50 = rwhp over just porting the heads, you'd need to port the intake out as well and remove any other restrictions through out, like what intake do you have?? what size maf?? what size tb?? and if you really wanna pick up some power, pull that bump stick and go solid roller...then things will start getting fun. add that to the mix and 50 rwhp pick up is not out of the question
