Default which direction should electric fans blow?

title says it all - a buddy of mine told me that electric fans are supposed to blow into the radiator..when i wired them at first i put + to + an - to - and that made the fans blow towards the motor...now my friend told me to switch + to - an - to + so that the fans like cool the radiator fluid instead of the motor itself... kinda makes sense whats the final verdict tho?

if your fan is on the engine side of the radiator, you want it to pull air through the radiator (air going to the motor). If its on the opposing side you want it to push through the radiator. Make sure you have your blade on correctly too, if it isn't you may not get proper cooling.

Think of it this way, which way does the air blow into the radiator when you drive down the road

Still,

Fan should be on engine side or you are hurting cooling performance. I don't care how amazing your fan is, if you are covering part of the radiator with a shroud before the fan can even touch the air, you are hurting yourself.

I think it is mounted on the engine side. He was reversing polarity to get it to run in the oposite direction. Blowing to the front. Hell I could be reading it wrong.
