I am in the process of rebuilding the entire fuels system on my 91 GT. I purchased a Stealth system from Glenns Performance, and was lookig for som insight from this group on removing the Vapor canister, and all the associated plumbing. It would appear one could just leave the Fuel Vapro Valve / Rollover Valve in the tank, possible with a vacuum cap over the outlet port.

Any thoughts out there if this would cause any problems? Should I just run a hose to a different location, but I'd be concerned about a vapor buildup and possible fire hazard if that was done.

Anyway, lets hear what you all have to say about the subject, 3

The intent of system is to use the fuel vapor in the fuel tank by injecting it into the intake manifold. There is no gain/purpose of removing it. Although minor, the system is there to increase fuel mileage and reduce (not exhaust related)emissions by using the vapor instead of venting it to the atmosphere.

Unless your car is stored in a plastic bag there is no danger of fire hazard. What it comes down to... you may have the smell of fuel in your garage(nothing if it is parked outside) and you will have slightly reduced gas mileage(like .01-.02 mpg). I doubt it would even be that much.

All the lines and components are plastic and if you add up the weight it may be equivalent to 1-2 lbs. Drop the kids off at the pool before you race and it will be equal.
