Default Three dinging sounds - 5.0L

Car is a low mileage 93 LX, rarely driven. New dist (from Ford dealership), plugs and wires. Had been running great. Today it started right off, ran good for some three blocks, started missing, no power. Died a couple of times getting it home, started right off every time it dies. Runs ok for 5 minutes, starts acting up. No engine lights, etc come on. However, it starts a dinging sound three times, repeats at about 15 second intervals. What the heck can this be?

If i remember right i think the dinging had something to do with the air bags or the computer.
