Default Shaved door kit

Hey all I just bought a shaved door kit & it should be here tomorrow. The reason is cause the car came with shaved doors but the system had been taken out. I really don't feel like tracking down a couple doors right now maybe later. My question is this though... Where are the wires located on the mustang that I need to connect to??? I already have my wiring diagram for the car & the kit comes with it's own diagram. I just need to know where I look for the car wires at. Thanks for any help! ~Q

Considering door poppers are strictly an aftermarket add on, there aren't any factory wires that connect to them. You should have a module, then circuitry leading to the poppers themselves.

Yes, I understand that but I have to splice like to the ignition wire, etc. where are those wires located? Thanks for the help so far! :-)

Splicing is a bad idea. Since the kit has already been installed once, it should already be pre-wired, no?

That's what I'm thinking, and why to the ignition? You don't want them to only be active when you have the key in, I would probably hook strait to battery or find a power wire that isn't crucial

MustangGT86 is on the right track. Definitely want electronic doors to be wired to the battery.

not sure why splicing would be a bad idea. I would assume that you want them to open by remote correct? If that is the case you will need to get an aftermarket keyless entry system and just wire the unlock outputs to the actuators and the lock to the electric door lock if you have it. But as they said for power you will probably need a constant/ground and maybe an ignition, the steering column is where we go for alarms although alot of the wires are also available in the drivers kick panel(both constant and switched).

I'm not against splicing, just need to make damn sure to have a good connection. Being that the doors are shaved, I would hate to think he trapped himself out of his car because he accidently made a bad connection. With them, too, you better make sure to never let your battery go dead or have a backup way to get in

I advised against splicing because of the amperage draw of a door popper. Feeding off a main power line that may already have a draw on it from clocks or whatever else, not such a great plan. A proper install would be to create new fused power feeds from the starter solenoid and into a relay controller of some sort.

Yeah but how can I connect power source wires to starter solenoid if the starter solenoid post is full???
