ok i have 86 5.0 manual. ok so my TPS is going bad. my idle will go from like 1000 to 200 RPM. yesterday i unplugged the sensor cause i thought a reset mite help for right now (stupid). i didnt disconnected the batt. i reconnected it and started it up. the throttle seemed hard to push down so i turned the car off. i then floored the pedal and it seemed to loosen up. I went around to the engine compartment and i pushed the throttle, it was back to normal. i did this about 5 times. i went to go start it and it wouldnt start, it turned over thou. I figured i flooded it. i let it sit for 20 min and it started up and the idle returned back to normal. Now this morning it wouldnt start again, i let it sit for about 30 min and it started up again but hesitant. I was thinking maybe i shorted out the sensor and it somehow controls the electric choke but idk. what do you guys think could be the problem??? its my DD so i need fast help thank you.

you don't have elec choke on sefi, google efi no start by joel5.0 and go through the basics

yeah you should get some info before a wildly ignorant post, dont get me wrong i didnt say stupid,, Ignorant there is a difference!

well i fixed it anyways today. it turned out to be the throttle positioning sensor like i thought.
