Power Loss, cutting out, chugging after being in the shop
Hello all,
I just got my 1990 GT 5spd out of the shop for an intake manifold coolant leak. They didn't have the correct manifold gasket so they made their own. While it was in there, they fixed some vacuum leaks also.
When I first got the car back it ran fine. About 15-20 minutes later it started cutting out at every stop light. Then the car started chugging while giving it gas. There is a huge loss of power also. It feels like the car isn't getting enough fuel.
The car has trickflow H/C/I and was tuned by the previous owner. Is it possible that it was tuned with a bunch of vac leaks and now that they are fixed, the O2 is off??
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

Sounds like one hell of a shop??? Making a gasket WTF use the right stuff would be a good start.
As for the tuning around vac leaks that would have been another mistake if it could be done, I guess it could but WHY?
Sorry this wasnt any help. You may want to go back to square 1.

Nearly impossible to tune a vehicle that has unmetered air entering it.
You're not really advised to "make a gasket" on parts that have suction/force through them. I'd bet you have a fatty intake leak (assuming they used silicone and not some custom cut gasket material), or some of the vacuum lines are crossed, or maybe they didn't put the spark wires back on in the correct order. Whatever it is, its related to taking the intake off, so that narrows the search quite a bit.
