Coil Over?

Coil Over?
This may be a little stupid sounding, but I gotta learn somehow.
Whats the difference between a coil over system and the stock system, threw my car on the lift recently and want to get my suspension upgraded. I always liked how the ride height in the rear was taller than in the front, and i wanna look into doing that on my stang, run some big tires and a taller ride height to give it an incredible stance. Though, ive heard people talk about bad ride height will give you slower 1/4 times. I know larger tire diameter will give you better times but if I went to coilover with some bigger tires, would i improve times or would I get worse ones. Apparently coilovers will improve times and bigger tires would too, so if i do this will i see a good improvment? Im thinking about saving my cash and doing something incredible with the rear end, and if there are any pictures, Id like to see them.
Thanks in advance.

RE: Coil Over?
The' better' times will reult from deeper gears (higher). That is why people use 3.73, 4.10 etc. A larger will not always result in a 'better' time.
Coil overs (rear) by itself will not really get you much. You need the rest of the equipment to go with it.
Look around and get some adjustable rear arms first, then think about coilovers....
