Default wont start now?

hey guys. just recently my stang has been hard to start weather its cold start or warm. just happens randomly? Last night after pumping gas it turned on and as i was leaving it just shut off, i crank it about 4-5 times and still nothing, started cussing and on the last try it turned on. As i approach the light it shuts off again but this time it started back up and got me home. Well today it wont turn on? In the past week when this started happening i thought it was maybe a fuel filter, or something around there, so what i would do was crank the car and pop the clutch to jerk the car., that actually did it and it would turn on right away after that..? I can hear the pump prime when i turn the key before cranking it so cant be the pump i suppose,? help

Iv noticed that it will do this only on the 1st start of the day., after that turns fine. Took about 10min of trying today!!! Puta..!! Anyother ideas? Again i can hear the pump prime but feels like its not primming all the way..., could this be the filter? HELP!!

The pump sounds weak when it primes? Has nothing to do with anything besides a bad pump. But, be sure that it does not sound right before replacing. Sometimes things sound differently than they used to when you actually pay attention to them. Mind playing tricks...

FWIW, my car would shut off while driving and after letting it sit for 15-20 minutes it would start up and run for a while. Pump was overheating and had to cool down.

Had to replace the pump twice, I guess the first one was faulty. Now I have had no problem in 3 years.

The pump sounds the same as when i got the car. Its just weird to me how it only does it on the 1st start of day but after it turns on i have no more issues for the day? Iv read alot of threads already and all the ones that had my issue never got back to saying what the fix was.., just info on there prob, thats it. This is a dumb one but if i have a little too much engine oil, would that cause it..? I have a little more than i should by over doing it but i really dont think thats the reason.

I'm pretty sure that too much engine oil will only stop the engine from cranking over if you are really overfilled. That happened to me a long time ago. Drained some back out and it cranked.

When I was young and knew everything I had too much oil in my engine. If I remember it right I ended blowing my rear main seal. Someone please correct me if I am wrong. I remembered because it was an expensive fix.

so its not the oil thing since my car cranks with no prob.., iam going to drain some out.

after 6 hrs of working i went out right now and tryed to start it. 1st crank, no turning on just cranking. 2nd attempt turns on but turns off right away? primed for about 10 times this time and cranked it, nothing., so i started turning the key half way thru prime and it turned on and stayed on! Good idle and turned on normal after that..
