Default Cervini's Ram Air Hood

I just dropped my Stang off at the body shop to have them paint and install my new Cervini's Ram Air Hood I received from LMR. The guy dry fitted it first, and called me to take a look. He said he made all the adjustments possible. It doesn't look bad, but the gaps are not 100 percent equal on both sides... and, it seems a bit off where it meets the aftermarket pony grill (recently installed)... wish I snapped a quick pic... I told him to go ahead and paint it and install it... should it be a "near perfect" fit? I don't even think my stock hood was "near perfect". I paid extra because of the rave fitment reviews Cervini's hoods get. What should my expectations be with an after market hood? Is he being lazy, and not doing all he can to get it close to perfect? I just don't know...

Replacement body panel fitment on cars that are 20+ years old ain't easy. Metal flexes with time and pressure, so there's a good chance that the hood is 100% perfect and the rest of the car is out of whack a bit. Body panel creases come undone, spot welds snap. If you want it perfect, you need to perfect the rest of the car as well.

Thanks, Matt. I am sure the car is slightly outta whack.
While looking at online pics of the hood on other similar foxes, I see most are a bit out of alignment too. Oh well, that's the way it goes, I guess!

I've had 3 different hoods on my car and none were even close to fitting like the stock hood. The best you can do is split the difference on each side and shoot it. It is what it is.

Yeah, it's been painted now, and reinstalled. Looks good... not perfect, but good. I am happy.

Why, yes, I am one of those guys who parks in two spots at the furthest end of the parking lot. Get over it, and park your Prius far from mine.
