By "steering assist is fine" do you mean it turns fine and easily? If so, then that is yes except for on hot days when it rubs as mentioned. But I guess that could be caused by the fluid?

yes , that's what I mean, I couldn't tell a thing from the vid, the noise you may have...is it a exterior noise?? like a sqeak??.....if so have someone work the steering and use an auto stephascope on all suspension parts to narrow orgin down, such as tie rods or ball joints.
