Hey i gotta ask, how much should it cost to have the flywheel resurfaced? We got quite a few machine shops around here and i'm gonna start calling around today. I see some people get it done for around $40 while others end up paying over $100. How much should i pay without getting ripped off? I'm in the bay area so there are plenty of places that'll do it.

Anywhere in that range is acceptable. Don't waste money on it if the flywheel is junk, though. Look over the surface carefully for hairline cracks. Those are created by heat and will not get better with a resurfacing, must be replaced.

I say you shouldn't pay more than 20 bucks for a resurfacing. A new flywheel from O'Reilly or Autozone is just 49.99 fyi.

Rockauto.com has one for $32 + $15 shipping. They're not expensive until you start gettin into racing ones.

I didn't know they were that cheap. I just got one from o'reillys for 55 bucks. It's just some generic one from china but eh. Good for now. I was thinking upwards of $200.

Get new flywheel bolts, put some thread locker on them, and torque 75-85 ft-lbs in a criss cross fashion.

Disregard that statement. I thought they were TTY bolts, but they're not. Good to reuse.
