Extemely rough running and burning tons of oil
hello i am new to this fourum but am in need of dire help. i have a 92 5.0 hatchback mustang and its having an issue. it barely and i mean BARELY runs. it sounds like a cammed drag car but its not cammed. it doesnt idle. plus there is TONS of blue exaust. like clouds of it. i drove it then parked it to go back to school. all was well. come back 3 weeks later and its like this. any ideas? i replaced the ignition system, alternator, did a compression check (90-100 all cylinders). what could this possibly be?

If all the cylinders are constant, we can rule out a ring issue. I'm thiking about valve guides, as sometimes they will drip oil into the cylinders if the car sits for awhile. Does it blow smoke constantly or does it dicipate shortly after start up ?

Yea i would think that if it was leaking valve guides It would clear up pretty quick. Unless its leaking reallly bad, in wich case id think you would have noticed it a long time ago. Check your oil and make sure its not full of fuel. A stuck open injector will leak fuel into the cylinder and past the rings into the oil this will make the oil thin. Oil spilling into the cylinder will also foul the plug and cause it to run rough.
Are you sure nobody dumped a buch of oil in your gas tank lol.
Also on the compression check did each cylinder hold compression or did it leak down ?

90-100 on all cylinders is bad.
Use a small squirt can and inject some oil directly into the cylinders and repeat compression test. Be sure and aim the oil high in the cylinder so it will drip around the rings instead of pooling at the bottom.
If the numbers go up, you need rings. If the numbers stay the same, you need to rebuild the seals on your heads.

Its a far shot but check the PCV valve at the very back of the lower intake by the firewall. They are often the cause of vacuum leaks which makes your car idle like crap and sound cammed even if it isn't. A clogged PCV will also cause you to burn oil...however not to the extreme you are explaining.
I have to agree with the other unfortunately....with the low compression numbers my guess is your problems internal.
