Default tach not working right

There's very few things wrong with my "new" car. One of which is the speedo and tach. They guy told me the rear was swapped to 3.73 (im assuming from 3.55). the speedo is progressively off the faster i go, i read that if i get a different gear (7 tooth i believe) in the sensor on the trans it should correct the problem, Also the tach bottoms out at like 3k rpm. It does go up as i go faster, but i still don't think its accurate above 3k. will the gear for the speedo fix this as well, or should i be looking at another sensor?

please correct me if i'm wrong about the speedo gear as well

thanks guys

speedo gear has nothing to do with the tach.
