Default 91 front 4 lug to 5 lug convert

I have been working on my 91 mustang and was wondering what it will take to do a 4 lug to 5 lug swap on the front is it as simple as going to autozone and buying the 5 lug rotors or do i have to swap out my calipers, caliper mounts and rotors

You could do that, but I wouldn't. You'd have a very limited wheel selection. I'd get spindles, caliper brackets, calipers, and hubs from a junkyard from a 94-95 Mustang. With that you need to either change your balljoint to a 94-95 one or use a spacer. I used some grade 8 washers as a spacer. Anyways, you'd then have many more wheel options and it's also the basis for brake upgrades. I if I remember right I paid $100 for the pair, then $30 to get the rotors turned. Not a whole lot more than new rotors.

Put it this way...

With stock 91 spindles... the outer wheel bearing goes on after the hubs are on... with 5 lug sn-95 brakes the wheel bearing is an integral part of the assembly. All you do is put a nut on the outside of the hub assembly.

Unless you find some kit at an online company(I assure you autozone parts will not work unless the entire assembly is Sn-95), a 5 lug setup will never work with the 4 lug spindles, brakes, etc...

You have to change it all.

You Can use 2wd ranger/ Lincoln Mark 7 Rotors and all you do is pull cotterpin slide old 4 lug rotor off, replace wheel bearings inside and out and seal then put new on and blammo done. Do not need to change anything else if you are looking for the simplest way to do it but it has many drawbacks on wheels as stated before because the bearing housing on the rotor sticks out and prevents you from using centercaps on most oem wheels.

BUT for 40 dollars most max and about a hour extra labor on the ground drinking a beverage and petting your local stray cat you do the sn spindle upgrade from junkyard like said above and have no issues with whatever wheel you want to run!
