Default Help Please

Okay so I am looking to buy a 1994 black mustang gt convertible locally. The person says that the clutch and flywheel need to be replaced. I can do that. Is there anyway for me to check to see if there are any other problems, so that I know that I am not getting ripped off.

I am sorry for the (if it is) dumb question. Being raised by only my mother didn't give me much information on cars

Why not just find one with no problems? There are plenty nice cars out there if you are patient

Ah yes that would probably be a good choice, but I am trying to find a vehicle relatively quickly and would be willing to put in the work for it. I just want to know if there's anything else wrong with it. The owner says that as far as he knows it should run great after the clutch/flywheel is changed

Just gotta drive it and see how it "feels" and look for anything out of the ordinary

And maybe, but it depends on the price. If it's priced well and only needs a clutch flywheel replacement then I'd go for it.

The price is really nice for it, he wants 700 and thats after quite a bit of negotiation. I am just trying to make sure that after I change the clutch and flywheel there will be no other problems. Is there anyway to tell?

Kind of hard to say without driving. It will start still so that's a start.. Check for any obvious starting problems, give it a rev or two, it should sound smooth up and down.. Check the normal maintenance stuff, fluids, belts, any leaks.. It's a crap shoot but if it looks good and runs good (can't drive it I know) then odds are in your favor. Can't really beat 700 if it's what you want and make it a project car..
