Default h/c/i help.

On my 85car it used to be fuel injected but ild owner converted it to carb with helpbfrom edelbrock with cam and lifters, rpm intake manifold, and 600cfm electric choke. Im at the point where im looking for a set of CHEAP aluminum heads. Under $1000 is where i want to be on the heads. Id really like to be at under $1500 for the package. Do i keep my rpm intake or is there a better option out there? I may switch to a holley carb. Its a street car. Mabye a few drag races for fun but mostly a dd. I will be going with a new exhaust too. Dumping my shortys and magnaflows for long tubes, h pipe, and super 44's with dumps. The motor is fresh. 30ovr last summer.

Any help?

When it comes to heads, you are going to get what you pay for.
I'd wait and save some more money and get Edelbrocks or Trick Flows.
IMO, you are on the right track wanting to use the long tube headers also.

I second that, but would AFR to the list of Edelbrock or TFS. I ran TFS for years, and was very happy with them. You could buy used to save some money, but they may need some machine work to freshen them up, which reduces the savings. Heads will make a big difference; your intake is fine for a DD.
