7.5 or 8.8

7.5 or 8.8
I have the 7.5 rear and soon be adding alumn heads and a bit more power. So my question is will the 7.5 handle it or should a 8.8 be thrown in? Im also asking because im at the point where i need new rear breaks, shocks, rear suspension, even new axle bearings. So i kno a guy with a crap load of 8.8s for $200. Not looking to go 5lug. What all is needed for 8.8 swap. Also im clueless with track bars and subframe connectors... what would i need for a street car that may see the track no more then 3 times a year?

You can use the 7.5 for a while they handle more than people give them credit for but 200$ is a cheap price to pay for later if you plan on real power.
Ive seen plenty of them in the 6`s and never had an issue.... but that was lightened cars.

Depends on what you want to do in the car, and how you drive it. The 7.5 is not going to take the same abuse the 8.8 will take. On the subframes, they will improve your handling and traction, but are not absolutely required. I run them in my car. Better rear control arms, especially ones that lower the LCA pick up points on the axle, also improve traction. I lowered mine twice chasing additional traction.

Im not planning anything wild for it. It will be getting alum heads n a new carb long tubes and new exhaust soon other then that.... its fun the way it is. I need new passenger axle bearing and shocks n breaks need replacement. So should i spend the $2002 on an 8.8 or save the 200?
