Why don't you buy a pair of calipers so you can measure the nut?

I think you posted on the wrong thread Freyes.. The question here was what size is the nut on the Harmonic balancer spindle, not, What do I use to measure a nut with. Besides, the nut is so deep in the pulley that Calipers wont fit properly.

This is gonna sound crazy but how about buying an entire socket set with a few extensions??? If your into the motor deep enough to be worrying about TDC I bet a full set of sockets will come in handy.

I see.. Thanks for all the help, my two complete sockets sets up to 1" sockets happen to be too small.. I went to Oreillys and got helped by someone much smarter and apt than you... Amazing what a 9th grade education did for that guy... All he did was call his cousin who has a similar vehicle and asked him. Like a forum but minus the idiot smarta's who aren't there to help. Thanks for nothing

No disrespect meant. However, you can get a pretty good idea of the size of a socket using the following method. Take a crescent wrench or a visegrip plyer and stick it in vertically so you can adjust it to fit the nut, then take a caliper or a ruler, and you can come up with the socket size.

I would think someone with your obvious level of education (ninth grade did you say?) should be able to figure this out for yourself, without having to go back and forth to your local auto parts place just to buy and return sockets. You gave a really snarky response to an honest answer. I was trying to teach you how to fish, when you only wanted a fish. Figuring out what size a nut is, is basic automotive 101.

How would you even know with a 2011 V6? Oh, you wouldn't. Vice grips and crescent wrenches will not fit inside the pulley. I doubt you even have a clue what im talking about, otherwise you would not comment like you have. I was asking because people here have been there and done that. You obviously haven't so stick to your chrome stickers and garden separator ground fx please.

Thanks for the honest answer without any trash talking. This is the point of forums guys, not an "I'm smart you're stupid, I'm right you're wrong" bash fest. Why even waste your time or mine? This is a knowledge database. Someone WILL ask the same question in the future, hopefully they can weed through the waste you leave behind and find what they are looking for.
