Default Weird Noise When RPMs Drop

Hey peeps, i'm hoping you guys can help me figure out what's causing this noise.
Basically, whenever the Rpm's drop from about anything above 1000rpm, it makes this nasty kinda clunky grinding sound. It's not too loud but it's loud enough to notice it. It doesn't matter if the car is still or moving. I can hear it when i shift and also when it's revving at a standstill.

The noise started immediately after i changed the h-pipe yesterday so i'm hoping it's just exhaust-related.

I just replaced the clutch a few months ago and it only has a little over 1,000 miles on it. That included a new pilot bearing, throwout bearing, flywheel, etc. so i'm hoping it doesn't have anything to do with the clutch.

Do i need to re-check the exhaust? Everything felt tight yesterday.
Any help is appreciated, Thanks

Check for spots where the mufflers might hit something

Id say its probly something on the exaust is loose and hitting the floor pan like mattdel says. I almost always have to retighten flange bolts after they get hot a few times after a new install. Mine kinda did the same thing when I first replaced the cats with some mid pipes. Turned out that the one side was just a bit short and the front of one muffler was rattling against the floor pan where it is recessed for the mufflers to go .

Alright thanks. I'll make sure everything's tight now that i've driven it a few times. The mufflers looked like they had plenty of clearance but i'll see. I'm hoping for a loose flange.

So, i checked the exhaust again, tightened everything up good (only one bolt was a little loose), and the pipes and mufflers had plenty of space between the floorboard. Started her up and no improvement. It's still making the sound.

It sounds like it's coming from up front. Around the bellhousing. Maybe the headers. I can't tell for sure.
Any other ideas what it might be?

coming from the bellhousing could be mabe the flywheel hitting the dust cover . Hope its not a loose flywheel bolt or the t/o bearing

God i hope it's not in the bellhousing though. TO bearings don't spin at idle do they? If not then i can rule that out. Shouldn't be a flywheel bolt either. I tightened them up real good with loctite. I really don't wanna tear everything apart again.

I'll keep trying

You should try and get a sound clip of the noise uploded, so we can hear the noise. Its really hard to even guess without hearing it for ourselves.

Alright i got a video of it but it might be a bit hard to hear without earbuds or headphones unless you turn it up loud. I wasn't trying to rev on it too hard cause the engine was still a little cold but you can hear the sound after every rev.

Any new ideas?

oops.. Can't embed for some reason.
