I purchased a hood off ebay for my stang. Came from a capri. Has the big center hood scoop. Well in the pictures it had hole cutout in hood scoop but when i got it it had just a plastic scoop on top of a hood. So i want to put it on stang but want it to be functional... can i cut the hood braces or am i in a world of crap?

Measure twice, cut once! You'll be fine.

The carb on an '85 is NOT in the very center of the hood, it's off about 1 1/2" toward the passenger side, take this into acount when placing the scoop.
I very carefully cut out all the bracing on my '*$'s hood and have had no problems at all and going 128 MPH in the lights........
