Desperately need help!!!! Now!
hey guys, my thermostat has been sticking a lot and it says it runs hot then jumps back down, I was running errands and my car was normal op temp and I put 20 of 89 octane and that was 6 gallons ill use half 89 half 87 and switch when I got the cash, well I started her after filling up and she dropped down to her set 6-700 idle and was thinking slower burning, well I pull in a drivethrough order and get to the window and wait behind someone for about 5 minutes then my engine sounded funny like a bearing was bad in one of my pulleys and vapor started pouring from infront of me and its kinda off and on cold mostly at night so I thought the person infront of mes exhaust was just sweating, Heck no I immediately turned my car off and saw my temp gauge at red and I jumped out let the vapor clear enough to open the hood and I did and my overflow container was spewing out water and coolant/water was everywhere I had vapor coming out of my radiator coolant all over my front bumper and driverside fender so on and so forth, could this just be a bad thermostat? or knock on freaking wood not a water pump.

It could be the thermostat , or the water pump. Also it could be the radiator is partially plugged .
I would change the thermostat first , and while your at it get a flush kit and some kind of radiator flush like prestone. The bearing sound you heard was probly the water pump squeeling from being hot and running dry. While your doing this check the radiator to see if your have good flow across the top under the cap , and when it starts to get hot feel the radiator all over to see if there are any cool spots . A cool spot would be from having crud plugging up part of the cores.

Okay, ill give that a shot tomorrow. So is there a kit to flush it out? Or just liquid? Whenever its my problems I draw blanks, but if it was yours I could do the same lol what type of thermostat should I get? 150-160 180? I'd like to one that improves efficiency but isnt gonna mess with anything.

I wouldn't go any lower than a 180 . Right around 180 is what the ecm needs to see to go into closed loop.
auto zone sells a decent flush-N-fill kit from prestone.

aslo the radiator cleaner

Just remember that if there are any holes in the heater core or radiator that are plugged by gunk this will clean it out and it may leak . But it would have leaked eventually anyways lol . Also to have a good efficient cooling system the coolant has to make contact with the metal in the engine. .. Sludge and corrosion builds up a layer on the internal water jacket of the engine and reduces the cooling effect . A yearly flush will help keep this from building up in the engine.

Well that sounds like maybe your fan motor could be bad. Check the blade and make sure it spins freely and doesn't wobble all over . Ive seen the front bushing in the fan motor get so worn out that the fan will get caught on the shroud and stop . this will cause the wires to melt.

If you end up replacing your thermostat, get a stock temperature rating such as http://www.autozone.com/autozone/par...832_1633_93207
I'd definitely check your fan. If the plug melted and isn't making contact anymore you'd over heat. You should be able to check it by turning on your A/C and defrost. I believe it should kick it on if you have once (Civic has two, and one will kick on if those are turned on)
Even if it does end up being your water pump it takes less than 2 hours and isn't very expensive. Have you been losing any coolant? There's a weep hole on them that start to leak when going bad.
