Default GT40 Heads x303 cam vs trickflow heads trickflow cam.

I was talking to my friends father that owned a foxbody way back in the late 90's and got rid of the car in 2003. Some of you may have seen my post about my bolt on and heads mustang not running too good or in my opinion. Mainly because i need a cam. He built an high 8 second stang. He said with his experience when he had mild setups he first did all trickflow and he didnt have a very good experience or times at the track he was barely in the 13's, he said he had a lot of luck with gt40 heads and an x303 cam bolt ons and he was running low 12's. He had a 351 windor bored over to a 396 when the car was at its peak before it was sold. I thought maybe about switching over to a 3:73 gear over my 4:10's. Id like to do roll races but with these 4:10's the car just doesnt hace much up top. People have told me its going to make a big difference

Trick flow will easily outflow GT40 stuff. What type of speeds are you seeing while roll racing? I'd think the 4.10s would be ok as long as your not trying to go up to 150.

I actually read what i wrote and i said to myself "WOW". I was dead tired when i put this post up lol so many spelling and grammar mistakes! Anyway! I havent really topped the car out on the highway, fastest speeds on the street probably like 105-110 in 4th gear and thats on a long a strip before i have to start slowing down. I was messing around with my friend that has an Acura rsx type S with bolt ons. Its a good car when going from a roll. He wasnt getting on it but im pretty sure it could have took the mustang because i just dont get that much pull when on a roll. Thats what my friends father was telling me. The 4:10's are great gears but you need a good tire to get you off the line or your just gunna be sledding all over the road so its useless with my street tires. When i get my cam and tune id hope i can be a little better on rolls. Like when somebody rolls up next to me it would be nice to run them a little and not have to worry about going from the dig lol. My friends rsx tops out at about 145

Dont expect the 3.73's to help out too much with traction.., as they wind up fast on a t5's, but not as fast as 4.10's but not far from it at all!! On streets i can never hookup with my 3.73's on 1st. Better top end thats for sure!

Im suprised with what you have.., you should be blowing the doors off that ricer..?
from a dig or a roll...Somethings not right HERE..!

Rolls are for fat chicks. If you can't get it from a dig, learn how to drive.

As for your question, you seem to be easily influenced. Your posts show you kinda. Lunging around with what you want todo and what your goals are. My suggestion is to find out what you want and then we can help send you in a general direction

Mustang has been put on hold for a while. Found a new interest in motorcycles. Turns out I need to come back to cars as track days and cycle parts are WAY more expensive than the mustang ever was lol

I dunno, my two rides my 89 s/c gt vert and 85gt have been the biggest money pits in the world, I'm about ready to put them up or more so, not race them anymore. Seeing as how everytime I do it costs me a new motor.......I've made a commitment to spend the money I use to save for the cars on the house........can't sleep in the back seat to well...lol
