^^^^when you mean can't get an accurate reading...is it because the balancer is rusted and the marks are hard to read?? if so get a small wire brush and clean the marks and mark them with some white out, if timing is jumping all over the place, inspect distributor for a worn bushing/play in the shaft = grab the rotor in the dizzy and see if it'll wiggle and or if the reluctor wheel is rubbing the stator......you also mentioned car won't hold pressure in another post?? fuel pressure dropping??
