I'm sick of balancing this engine...
Local race shop called today, said they got my crankshaft on the balance machine. Coast High said that my crank should be externally balanced @ 28oz. So I ordered a 28oz flywheel and damper. The shop put everything on the machine, called and said that the crank needs 450 grams removed and looked like its set up to be 50oz. Coast High says they only have one crank for the 393 kit and its 28oz only. They currently have a neutral balance crank for the same kit thats internal balanced. They said if the kit needs 450 grams removed, thats pretty damn close to being internally balanced. What do you guys think? This thing is driving me nuts.

Hell no. I tried that, and they said that crank is the only one they have for this particular kit. I said your website says you make them to be balanced internally now and i supposedly have an external crank, so how do you have only one crank? I'm pretty sure I ordered my kit when they were in the middle of switching crank designs. Ergo I ordered the external crank and they boxed an internal. In the end I guess it works out for me since I originally wanted to balance the motor internally just for longevity's sake, but this will be the last time I order anything from them.

Let's hear some stories! Its a bit ridiculous when the only way to get a hold of a company's "tech" line is through a chat box on the website. I've called them 3 times in the past 2 weeks and they've put me on hold for 30~ minutes each time. I saved the chats, I'll have to post them
