Default Mechanical fan vs electric

Pros and cons of both? Biggest pro for the mech being the price. Will electric cool better? Would mechanical be more reliable (no relays/switch)?

Most people go with an electric fan for the 1 or 2 horsepower it frees up and it makes a little more room in the engine bay. A good electric fan will move more air also if your a real high performance ride and need the extra cooling. Do ya really need one? probably not.

I wouldn't consider my car to be super high performance. So the space issue notwithstanding, you say mech clutch?

I would pick up 1 to 2 tenths at the track always by removing mine, they create more rotational drag than you'd imagine, I never would have believed the et pick up had I not of done it at the track and no mine was not locked up

Thats pretty amazing. I would have never guessed that from such a simple mod. Do you think it's as big on a street car as it is on a car trapping 125+ ?

So wouldn't a flex fan cause even more drag if the blades flatten at high speeds?
