just got a 1989 gt it runs ok but hesitates from 1st gear to 2nd after that it seems to be ok although i'm being told that it is nowhere near running right.the motor seems to to running ok is it possible the catalytic converters are clogged or something else?

no.......if cats were clogged most likely situation would not go away after 2nd gear, sounds like a secondary ignition component issue......ie...plugs, cap, rotor/wires
