Loctite is thread fastener, stops the bolt from backing out. Although im not sure if its reliable since the dowel doesnt have any threads.

if you put the retaining plate on that has a tab that goes in the hole as well as the large washer that is usually on the bolt, it can't back out as it partially covers the hole

thanks guys! also I have been reading up, me and my friend were starting to tear the motor down and while my fn back was turned he yanked the distributor out...now my question is i know where about the rotor was pointing, can i just drop it in there, or how would I go about setting it? I know as far as the crank and cam there is timing marks so you can taime it easily, what about the distributor? thanks!

set the timing to TDC and reinstall the dizzy with the pointer at number 1(make sure its tdc on the intake stroke and not exahust or your timing will be 180 degrees off)
