Please don't follow that advise. Removing 0.0007 by hand is not a good move. That is an awful lot of material.

No matter how hard you try not too, working a bore by hand (by that much) or even with a hand held drill and hone you will only deform the cylindrical shape. Working it by hand creates peaks and valleys that the bearings will conform too. "Printing" that shape onto the journal will make it wear unevenly and increase the chances of spinning one.

Now for a general pass car this might work. But for a higher than normal loading situation you need to spread the load out as squarely as is possible.
I mean.. as is with a 0.003 clearance you'll be concentrating the loading on the apex of the rod end. That is where you'll see the most wear with well machined parts that are nice and square.

The only way to have the bore "square" is to align hone them all at once.

Ok then back square one. Its the 1 and 2 journals that dont have the clearance i want. Apparently you cant polish .001" or turn it on a lath w that small of increment. I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place.

dont they make a the undersized in the next size under then you could run half of one then half of the other you know like 2 sizes under. Pretty sure they do for the Chevy stuff not so sure on the Ford. I know I run a std. shell on one side of a main then a half shell undersized on the other.

Im using both shells for .001" extra. I looked to see if they made a .002 but havent found anything. You would think if this is a recurring issue then they would remedy a new bearing as a solution. You would think. Lol

Lol. I don't talk to sales guys anymore, not sense the fuster cluck with my rotating assembly dilemma.

Anyways, I called the shop up today and he said to bring the crank to him. Since they did the align hone on the block, I said I should have the correct clearance but its not there. He said just bring him the crank and he'd get me the clearance.

Why can't every shop have customer service like this? Who knows.

I didn't realize until just now that you .007 to try and get out.
Little much for my scotchbrite idea.
I see one of two ways to fix this.
1) get a whole bucn of bearings and find some that fit best.
2) Take the crank someplace and get it reworked.
I'm thinking #2 is the better option.......
