Bell housing/flywheel inspection cover missing
I was under the 84 GT that I bought a couple weeks ago and noticed the inspection cover was not on. It looks like the whole tin plate that normally goes between the block and bell housing may be missing.
What affects can this have?
So far I haven't noticed any driveability, starting, or shifting issues.
Its a T5 car, engine has been redone but not sure if its original, also not sure if the trans is original. The trans is very clean as well and shifts very smooth. Clutch is firm.

That shield is there for a couple reasons mainly to inspect the fly wheel , but also to keep dust and crap out of the flywheel. A lot of pple fail to put it back on after a trans or clutch swap... I doubt it will hurt anything to not have it there Ive had tons of cars that were missing that cover.

that doesnt go between the block and trans..
the way he is describing it he is missing this
and this
but because he has a manual trans it should look like this instead one piece
